E-commerce profit & ROI

Connect revenue, ad returns and real profit

Sales return in an ad platform is not net profit. This tool combines product, shipping, transaction fees and refunds to show the income structure and affordable ad spend at fixed sales volume. All calculations run in this page.

Features

Profitability metrics

Includes unit and fixed costs, showing revenue before and after refunds, net profit and cost composition.

Sustainable ad-spend limits

Separates ROAS, overall ROI and net-profit return on ads. Break-even budgets account for refunds, agency fees and monetary rounding.

Cost breakdown

Use a cost donut and ROAS bars to inspect the model. Copy or export TXT / CSV with all inputs and calculation assumptions.

How to use

  1. Choose one settlement currency and enter selling price, product cost and per-unit shipping.

  2. Enter units sold, ad spend and agency fees, then payment fees, refunds and fixed costs.

  3. Review profit and costs, compare actual ROAS with the matching break-even line, and check explanations for unavailable metrics.

  4. Change assumptions to recalculate immediately, then copy or export checked details for team review and reconciliation.

Calculation rules & limits

Income & expense details
Net profit = post-refund revenue − product − shipping − payment fees − ads − agency fees − fixed costs. Payment fees use pre-refund revenue; agency fees use ad spend.
Break-even ROAS
At fixed volume and non-ad costs, solve the largest ad spend whose amount plus agency fee fits pre-ad profit. Break-even ROAS = pre-refund revenue ÷ that budget. No budget means no fabricated zero or infinity.
Calculated only in your browser
Money uses exact decimal arithmetic. Inputs and results stay in page memory, without external requests, uploads or automatic saving, and clear on leaving.

Use cases

Product planning: estimate ad-spend capacity from price and fulfillment costs at assumed volume.

Period reconciliation: combine units, ad spend and fixed costs from the same period.

Cost sensitivity: change shipping, refund or agency rates to inspect profit and break-even changes.

FAQ

Why can a high ROAS still mean a loss?

ROAS compares revenue with ad spend, excluding other costs such as product and shipping. Overall ROI uses net profit and total costs. Review profit, margin and details together to understand this model.

Why are some metrics not applicable?

Zero ad spend, costs, net revenue or units leave the related ratios without a denominator. No profit before ads, or no feasible minor-unit budget, also means no usable break-even ROAS.

How are refunds, taxes and currencies handled?

Refunds reduce revenue without returning product, shipping or payment costs; adjust inputs if costs are recovered. Add taxes and handling charges to relevant costs. Currency selection does not convert values; use one currency throughout.

Why does the break-even line differ from price divided by gross profit?

Simple formulas often omit refunds, payment and agency fees and fixed costs. This model accounts for them at current volume and solves the minor-unit ad budget. Changing volume changes fixed-cost allocation, so recalculate.
