IP address lookup

Understand your public connection

Identify an IP’s approximate region and provider for cross-border ad environment checks and network troubleshooting. Results show only data actually returned by the service.

Features

Look up IP

Detect your public connection or look up IPv4 / IPv6 addresses, refresh and copy.

Network ownership

Display returned location, time zone, ISP, organization and ASN; hide absent fields.

Current device environment

Inspect local device details separately and copy or export TXT / JSON reports.

How to use

  1. The page detects your public IP on entry. After changing networks, choose My IP again.

  2. Enter a public IPv4 or IPv6 and run the lookup; do not enter a URL.

  3. Check the location and network. Device details always describe this browser.

  4. Copy the IP or export a report as needed. Maps open externally only when clicked.

Data notes

Location accuracy
Databases may locate the provider or network exit. Proxies and VPNs change the exit. Results cannot identify a person or exact home address.
Field availability
Absent fields and empty sections are hidden. Missing security data does not mean no proxy, VPN or risk. City and provider names may retain the source language.
Requests & cache
Addresses are cached in page memory for ten minutes; your public connection for thirty seconds. Refresh bypasses cache. Requests are at least three seconds apart and respect service limits.

Use cases

Cross-border ads: verify whether the public exit region matches your intended environment.

Troubleshooting: check ISP and ASN, then recheck the exit after switching networks.

Teamwork: export a report to compare network and local browser environments with colleagues.

FAQ

Why does the city differ from my actual location?

IP location relies on a database and may refer to a data center, ISP or proxy exit, not GPS. Database updates and routing can also cause differences.

Why are some fields or detection sections missing?

Only valid fields actually returned are shown. The free source generally omits VPN and proxy signals; they stay hidden without implying safety.

Why can’t I look up 192.168.x.x or 127.0.0.1?

These are private or loopback addresses with no unique public location. Reserved, documentation, link-local and special-use addresses are also blocked locally.

Are my queries saved?

The tool saves no history and does not upload device details. IP requests go to ipwho.is / ipapi.is; memory cache clears when you leave. Reports are created only when you copy or download.
